KINGSLEY F. POOR, JR. - Karen Poor Peck's father Passes

September 17, 1923 - April 19, 2016

Kingsley F. Poor, Jr. age 92, died Tuesday, April 19, 2016. He was born in San Antonio to parents Kingsley F. and Nellie (Chittenden) Poor and graduated from Harlandale High School. Nicknamed "Sonny" by his mother, it stuck with him by all the family for the rest of his life. After graduation he joined the Army Air Corps until the two branches split and he chose the Air Force. He retired after 32 years of devotion to his country.

Not one to be idle, after his retirement, he worked in the entertainment business, the auto business, but in the end it was his passion for golf that led him to the Dominion Country Club as head marshal for the course. Other passions were crossword puzzles and chocolate. He was a Shriner after reaching the 33rd degree level as a Free Mason and was a lifetime member of Randolph Lodge 1268, AF/AM Masonic Lodge in Schertz, where he was the last living past Master.

For Kingsley spending time as a Father, Grandfather and Great-grandfather was his biggest joy. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Frankie Bea, whom he had known since grade school. Kingsley was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Elizabeth, Norris and Jerry Nell, and one brother David. He is survived by daughter Karen Poor Peck and husband, Robert; son Michael; 2 granddaughters Courtney Fultz and Michael-Anne Peck; great-grandchildren, Lauren, Devon, Hannah, MacKensie and grandson, Shane as well as numerous nieces and nephews and a large group of beloved friends that he collected throughout is lifetime.
