MARGARET ANN BIRD

Margaret-Bird-Obituary

Margaret Ann Bird was born on March 9, 1951 and peacefully joined her Lord and Savior December 4, 2019. She grew up in Robstown, TX, graduated from Southwestern University and taught school for several years. She married the love of her life, Gary William Bird, on February 2, 1974 and they moved to New Braunfels, TX in July 1976.
She was active in local churches and loved to sing in the choir and at friends’ weddings. She had the voice of an angel. She was involved with Bible Study Fellowship and many other bible studies throughout her life. She faced many challenges in life, including a rare Charcot Marie Tooth disease, which ultimately took away her ability to sing and walk. Her faith and trust in God sustained her through all of her struggles and led to her comfort and peace at the end.
She is preceded in death by her father, Phil Magee, mother, Mary Margaret Magee Mayfield, and stepfather, Greydon Mayfield.
She is survived by her husband, Gary, son, Trevor and wife, Catie, son, Derek and wife, Shea, and grandchildren: Hudson, Evan, Millie, Isabelle, Sophia, Allene, and Reece.
When she realized she would not live until Christmas she wanted to leave a message reminding us that Christmas is about the birth of Christ and that we should focus on that, slow down, and spend time with our families and friends. We give gifts only because God gave us the greatest gift of all, His son Jesus Christ.
Visitation will be held at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home Tuesday, December 10, 2019 from 5-7pm. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 10:00am at Christ Our King Anglican Church, with interment to follow at Hill Country Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association for research on Charcot Marie Tooth Disease.

Carolynn Little Stampley

APRIL 28, 1950 – SEPTEMBER 17, 2019
Obituary of Carolynn Little Stampley
Carolynn Little Stampley passed away September 17, 2019. She was born April 28, 1950, in Sherman, Texas to Oliver and Maurine Little. Carolynn graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1973 and received her Masters in Educational Psychology from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1981. Carolynn pursued a long and rewarding career in education, devoting her time and effort to children with special learning needs. In addition to her passion for working with children, she loved exploring, design, cooking, and most recently Ikebana flower arranging. Carolynn was the anchor for her family and friends. She gave her loved ones unwavering strength and guidance with class and a timeless, elegant style. With a beautiful smile that she never seemed to be without, Carolynn was everything – she was sweet, smart, and beautiful. She always looked ahead as she helped and inspired those she touched. She will live on in the hearts of everyone she knew. Carolynn is preceded in death by her husband, John. She is survived by her mother, Maurine, sons Jonathan, Travis and his fiancé Shannon Phillips. She is further survived by her grandchildren Oliver and Hunter; sister, Leisa, brother in law, Bill Perry and niece Isabella Perry, and her partner, Rob Curtis. I’m Free!!

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free!
I’m following the path laid out for me.
A life of adventure, love, and awe
With open heart I embraced it all.

If my passing has left a void
Then remember it with uplifted Joy!
A friendship shared, a laugh, hug, and kiss
Ah yes, these things, I too, will miss

Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow
My life’s been full, I savored much
Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch

Perhaps my time seemed somewhat brief,
But do not lengthen it with grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me
Be not sad for I am free!

SHARON MOORHEAD WOODS, CLASS OF ’65, RANDOLPH HIGH SCHOOL

I’ll let Jackie Darling Anderson, Class of ’64, say it best:

The world has lost a great woman in my dearest friend, Sharon Moorhead Woods. Her sweet daughter Alexis posted this today. Sharon was in the Class of 1965 at Randolph AFB, Texas where we became kindred souls up to no good. We had nicknames for each other and we kept them forever. We shared adventures and stories and she was a Southern girl to her very core. She snuck me into her dorm at the University of Texas after hours....I can’t believe we didn’t get caught. We liked slumber parties at Kris’ house and staying up all night to gossip and talk and sneak cigarettes. We got in trouble and we didn’t care. We lived in a golden time for our generation and I will forever cherish this fine woman for all she stood for and all she did for me and with me. Rest In Peace my lovely friend.

From her daughter, Alexis Woods Bohrer:

My mother Sharon Alexis Moorhead Woods passed peacefully late last night (June 18th) and was released from her earthly struggles. I will lay her to rest next to her baby sister Marilyn on Thursday the 27th at 11 AM in Lynchburg, Virginia in a small burial ceremony. Thanks to all of the family and friends who have supported her and I throughout these difficult years. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Angelwood at angelwoodjax.org. Fly Momma Fly!!!

Condolences can be sent to her daughter and her brother:

A wonderful person. Our prayers are with her family. Cornel Walker ‘65

So sorry to hear this news.  Her sister was a close friend of my sisters.  I let my sis know.  She has kept in touch with the family all these years. Bonnie Horne McKeever ‘64

Before my time, but sounds  like a much loved gal...God Bless you. Gloria for keeping  us all connected....Judith Shepard Chapman ‘69

They lived right across the street on North Park just down from the Taj. I knew her as David’s big sister.
Mike Scott ‘67

I REMEMBER Sharon Moorhead,  very Well,  for some reason.  We were never Buddies,  but for some reason;   I LIKED her ….  A lot.   She must have been ‘kind to me’,  at some point,  there at school.  I always thought that she was VERY PRETTY. SAD NEWS to read this. This makes me realize,  even more that I should TELL PEOPLE:   the positive feelings that I have toward them.  Tom Madsen ‘66

It saddens me to hear about our classmates passing. I live the last sentiment from her daughter.  Fly momma fly.  Yes, Sharon. You are free to soar with God.
Rest In Peace my friend.  Donna Pierini ’65 (a/k/a Dee Bishop)

Sharon was my next door neighbor for the two years I was there.  I remember her knocking on my window one very early morning to tell me that it was snowing and to come out and share the fun with her.  She was a special person. Sharon and my brother Michael were in the same grade
To her family only good memories in celebration of Sharon's life. Jill Wagner Porter ‘64

Unfortunately we are in that era for our class when we will lose our friends. Fortunately we will always have our memories of Sharon leading out that magnificent Pep Squad on Friday nights.
I hope you and Danny are well.  Bob Lee ‘65

Thanks for letting us know Gloria!  What a beautiful message Jackie wrote!  I always really liked her!  I’ll try to send you a great photo of her (later) leading the drill team! Suzi King Spencer ‘66

How sad so very sad. Was a very nice person. Harry D. Johnson ‘66

Saddens my heart😞 Blessings, Janet Francis Murillo '64

h this is sad news.  I remember Sharon as a very familiar smiling face and name at RHS though I doubt if she would remember me.
She seemed to be involved in so many parts of student life.
Really doesn't seem so long ago.  Peggy McDowell Oliver
