Carolyn Clay, 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 27, 2006, in Wichita Falls.Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2006, at Crestview Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Dr. Isaac Butterworth officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.Carolyn was born July 2, 1923, in Augusta, Ga., to Oliver Earl Seago Sr. and Daisy Belle Claxton Seago. She married First Lt. Richard Laurence Clay Jan. 23, 1943, and lovingly and proudly stood by him during his 30 year Air Force career. In 1971, he retired and they chose to make their final home in Wichita Falls.Carolyn was a beloved mother and special friend to many. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Lyn (Babs) Clay of Dallas; her biological son, Richard R. Clay and his wife Diane of Wichita Falls; her non-biological son, U.S. Marine Corps Col. (Ret.) Richard W. Leuking and his wife Bobbie of College Station, Texas; her brother, Oliver Earl Seago, Jr. and his wife Margaret of Ocala, Florida; six grandchildren, Crystal B. Clay, Kimberly L. Clay, Kelsey D. Clay, Richard Laurence Clay II, Richard R. (Ricky) Leuking, and Christopher Ryan (Chris) Leuking; her niece, Cindy Seago Thompson of Jacksonville, Fla., and nephew, Tom Seago of San Diego, Calif. She was preceded in death by her husband; her father, Oliver Earl Seago Sr.; her mother, Daisy Belle Claxton Seago; and her grandson, Robert Laurence Clay.Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 30, 2006, at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
