The world has lost a
great woman in my dearest friend, Sharon Moorhead Woods. Her sweet daughter
Alexis posted this today. Sharon was in the Class of 1965 at Randolph AFB,
Texas where we became kindred souls up to no good. We had nicknames for each
other and we kept them forever. We shared adventures and stories and she was a
Southern girl to her very core. She snuck me into her dorm at the University of
Texas after hours....I can’t believe we didn’t get caught. We liked slumber
parties at Kris’ house and staying up all night to gossip and talk and sneak
cigarettes. We got in trouble and we didn’t care. We lived in a golden time for
our generation and I will forever cherish this fine woman for all she stood for
and all she did for me and with me. Rest In Peace my lovely friend.

My mother Sharon Alexis
Moorhead Woods passed peacefully late last night (June 18th) and was released from her
earthly struggles. I will lay her to rest next to her baby sister Marilyn on
Thursday the 27th at 11 AM in Lynchburg, Virginia in a small burial ceremony.
Thanks to all of the family and friends who have supported her and I throughout
these difficult years. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Angelwood
at angelwoodjax.org. Fly Momma Fly!!!

lived right across the street on North Park just down from the Taj. I knew her
as David’s big sister.

I REMEMBER Sharon Moorhead, very Well, for some
reason. We were never Buddies, but for some reason; I
LIKED her …. A lot. She must have been ‘kind to me’, at
some point, there at school. I always thought that she was VERY
PRETTY. SAD NEWS to read this. This makes me realize, even more that I

Sharon was my next door
neighbor for the two years I was there. I remember her knocking on my
window one very early morning to tell me that it was snowing and to come out
and share the fun with her. She was a special person. Sharon and my brother

we are in that era for our class when we will lose our friends. Fortunately we
will always have our memories of Sharon leading out that magnificent Pep Squad
on Friday nights.

h this is sad news. I remember Sharon as a very familiar smiling face and name at RHS though I doubt if she would remember me.
She seemed to be involved in so many parts of student life.
