Deborah Joe Malone

December 4, 1949 – April 22, 2025

Debbie Robert Malone, Class of 1968

Deborah Joe Malone, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on April 22, 2025, peacefully in her home, surrounded by her sons, daughter in law and her dog. Debbie was born on December 4, 1949, at Ft. Clayton, Panama Canal Zone. Debbie’s roots were in Jennings, Louisiana, and she was raised moving and traveling as the daughter of an Air Force officer. She spent time all over the US as well as time in Spain during her childhood before settling in San Antonio.

Debbie is preceded in death by her parents Wade Hampton Robert, Jr. & Winifred B. Latshaw (Robert) and husband Dennis Oliver Malone. She is survived by her closest trusted companion Piper, her golden retriever; her son, Philip Moya, Jr. and his wife, Suzie; son Jeffrey Moya; stepsons, Jeff Malone and his wife Margaret and Mike Malone and his wife Dawn. Grandchildren, include Morgan Moya, Hailey Moya, Katelyn Moya, Mason Moya, Matthew Moya, Adam Gonzales Malone and his wife Jamie, Jordan Malone, Benjamin Malone and his wife Natalie, Sarah Malone, Austin Malone, Madeline Malone, Maddison Solomon, and Kennedy Solomon. She is also survived by her brother, Wade Hampton Robert III and wife Zoe; nieces, Stacy Trumbo and husband Hunter and Devan Koehn and husband Scott, along with her extended family, and many lifelong friends.

Debbie was known for her business acumen, being a noted life hacker and an incredibly talented seamstress. For years she worked in real estate and property management before stepping in beside Denny at MLC Landscaping Co., Inc. Many people have a home office, but Debbie had a hobby room. She had multiple sewing machines, including monogramming equipment, paints, brushes, ribbons, wrapping paper, books, records, photos, baskets, fabric, needles, and her computer. There was also a dog bed in every room for her beloved Piper.

For many years Debbie enjoyed hunting, fishing, and endless pool parties. She also spent a great deal of time at her second home in Port Aransas. Being near the water was a big part of her life as she also took many summer vacations to Cancun, Mexico. Her favorite memories were those that she shared near or on the water.

Debbie will be dearly missed by those who knew her the best. The family wishes to express their immense gratitude to her care giver in her last weeks of life, Marcia. Debbie's last days were spent knowing that no matter what, she was loved, not only by her family, but also the eternal love of Our Lord and Savior. She was surrounded by positive, loving energy that brought smiles to her face, even through the pain. There is no doubt that God was with her and her family in her final weeks, and she even enjoyed listening to music again, for the first time in eighteen years.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 11:00 am, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.

A celebration of life will be held after the service at Debbie’s home.

(I have no further information as to where to send condolences, however, you may contact the Funeral Home.)
